fonts and typography

You don’t have to settle for the standard array of Google fonts for your project. Make your business stand out with elegant, eyecatching or specialized typography to enhance your branding!

We have an enormous library of designer fonts which can be applied to both print and website projects.

For example, this website uses Adobe Caslon for headlines, and Syntax for text areas – these fonts are not offered through Squarespace’s standard font library – but we uploaded them to Squarespace as custom fonts.

We are available for in-depth consulting:

  • Choosing font families for corporate or enterprise branding;

  • Creating InDesign style sheets for long document projects;

  • CSS editing for websites, both Squarespace and Wordpress.

Let us know if you’d like to draw upon our type expertise for your project – or, just dish about your favorite cool fonts!

About Tad Hanna – Font freak and former typesetter

Tad is a former professional typesetter from the ancient ages of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, before personal computers and modern layout applications even existed.

  • She operated high-end Linotype typesetting equipment for top graphic designers in the 1980s in Providence, RI. Clients included Brown University, Columbia University, and the RISD Art Museum.

  • She worked at Adobe in the early 90s as a technical support specialist in the Fonts department, where she fielded advanced technical questions from customers, and helped font salespeople identify mystery fonts faxed in by customers.

  • Tad then worked for QuarkXPress technical support in the mid 1990s, where she was dubbed “The Font Goddess.” Tad provided advanced typography and font education to the entire Quark tech support department.

  • She then brought her typography expertise to Sweet Design in 2001, where she and Mary Sweet applied their old-school typography eyes to every project.

  • We have an enormous library of designer fonts which can be applied to both print and website projects.
