Why Wordpress is no longer the best choice for a new website in 2026:

• Wordpress had many ingenious features, a modular and flexible structure, and a commendable open-source business model.

• Wordpress had dominated the world wide web since 2010 or so.

• But now, security vulnerabilities, unwieldy themes that were difficult to customize, and non-intuitive interface design make it a far less desirable platform for creating a new website compared to Squarespace.

• And it’s not cheaper.
